Before discovering yoga, I worked 40 hours a week at a photography studio while also photographing & editing clients on nights & weekends. Add to that the extra curricular schedules of my two teenage daughters & life not only felt extremely hectic but quality family time was non existent.
One yoga class later & everything changed. Throughout the next 9 months of home practice I came to dread my 24/7 work hours, & desperately wanted to slow down. During the downtime of the pandemic I poured myself in to a teacher training, never planning to actually teach, only wanting to deepen my own understanding of my practice. Immediately after receiving my certification, a local studio owner approached me about teaching & convinced me to commit to at least one class a week. I fell in love with teaching from class one.
I received my RYT200 at the end of April 2020 & in August I began teaching beginner friendly Slow Flow classes at a new studio in Zanesville, Ohio. In January of 2021 I transitioned to teach at the Southtown Gym.
Although I'm just starting out, I realized from the beginning that what I really want is to teach women to be more in tune with themselves through yoga, by slowing down, connecting with their breath, & moving their bodies.
This is self care. This is self love. This is yoga.
