Did you know we store emotions in our hips? Trauma, sadness, anger... all of it!
I've had many people tell me that they've cried, or felt very emotional during or after a yoga practice. Not knowing any better, they don't understand what's happening. But the truth is, its perfectly normal.
During yoga, we work to release tension. If you think of it that way, it makes sense. But the hip openers can really intensify the emotional response. I found some great information on it at gaia.com. You can read about it here -
